Hi! I’m Olivia, a current Child Behavioral Health major at the UO. I’ve always loved working with kids and have been around childcare my whole life. My mom has cared for children for as long as I can remember, and I grew up helping her and learning how to create a safe, loving, and fun environment. Since then, I’ve worked in schools and programs with children of all ages and abilities, including kids with autism and non-verbal communication needs. I love spending time doing hands-on and creative activities with kids, like outdoor play, arts and crafts, building with blocks, sensory activities, and messy play with water, sand, or paint. I also enjoy reading, singing, imaginative games, and exploring nature. I like supporting children as they learn new skills, try new activities, and express themselves in fun and safe ways.

My experience with special needs children...

I have extensive experience working with children and individuals of all abilities, including those with Down syndrome, non-verbal children, mobility challenges, and rare conditions. I’ve supported their needs at home, in nature, and in the community, using AAC devices and other communication supports as needed. I’m trained in safe transfers and mobility assistance, and I provide personal care and hygiene for children, teens, and adults. My focus is always on creating inclusive, engaging, and safe environments where every individual feels supported, confident, and able to explore and learn.
