Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have worked with kids in many age groups, and in both big and small numbers. I’ve been a babysitter, a dance teacher, an educational assistant at a preschool, a summer camp counselor, as well as a director of an after-school care program with the YMCA.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I first like to validate and explore the interests of the kids. But if they run out of ideas, I have many games and ideas up my sleeve. Some of my favorites are dance parties, making plays or movies, or really any imaginative play ", the morning show (where I interview them as their favorite TV or book character), creating a personalized obstacle course, any board or card game, making up our own sports, and the list goes on!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Empowering people! As long as we are safe and everyone is being respected, encouragement and validation for a person’s awesomeness is top priority!
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for many neurodivergent kids both in my family, as a nanny, and as well as at my workplace. I am a quick learner, ready to be adaptable and attentive.
