A little bit about me

Hi there, my name is Olivia. I have been working with toddlers and infants starting around 12. It began with friends of my family, they had a little girl who was almost 5 at the time and a little boy who was about 7 months old. I also watched a younger cousin starting when he was 3 months. I volunteered in a nursery for about 2 years, this ranged ages from 2 months-6 years. Most recently my sister had a baby, she is two months old now and I have been watching her every other weekend until her husband gets situated in his new job. So I have lots of experience with kids of all ages, it is definitely a passion of mine. I think that parents should have the ability to have their jobs and free time without having to worry about the safety of their kids. I like to be that safe but also fun caregiver. I also think that a bond with the kids or babies is very important so I enjoy doing activities that are both educating and fun.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One moment that really stood out for me was actually only a few weeks ago. The little girl I was watching, 2 months old, was having a hard time at first, I'd watched her before but she was fussier than usual, until I sat down with her on the floor and propped my legs up so lean her against them and she looked at me and started "talking". She began smiling and making her cute little noises and it was just a really sweet bonding moment and it just melted my heart.
