A little bit about me

Hi! I am looking for afternoon sitting jobs, as well as occasional babysitting. I am currently a special education teaching assistant (DIR based) and getting my masters in Child Life. In the past I have worked as a teaching assistant at Perkins School for the Blind (ABA), a camp counselor at Rye Rec Kiddy Camp, and as an elementary after school teacher. I have also babysat for many families since high school. Additionally, I volunteered at Boston Children’s and will be at Cohen Children’s for a practicum in June.

If you are looking for a babysitter to fill those times, I’d be happy to chat!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Relevant experience where I also cared for children includes my time as a teaching assistant at Perkins School for the Blind, where I supported students with visual impairments and multiple disabilities in both academic and daily routines. I also worked as an afterschool instructor for the City of Cambridge, planning and leading engaging activities for kindergarteners and adapting to a wide range of needs and personalities. In addition to these roles, I’ve provided consistent babysitting for families over the past seven years, caring for children from infancy through school age, including those with developmental delays or sensory sensitivities. Each of these experiences has strengthened my ability to create a nurturing, safe, and playful environment for every child I work with.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing arts and crafts, make-believe games, and anything that helps strengthen imagination. Whether we’re creating a pretend world, acting out stories, or building something magical from cardboard and crayons, I am engaged in every activity. I also love reading books together, going outside for walks or playground adventures, and encouraging exploration through nature and play. I always aim to follow a child’s interests while introducing new, creative ways to learn and have fun!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is creating a space where children feel safe, seen, and celebrated. It’s about forming strong, trusting relationships and showing up with consistency, empathy, and a genuine interest in who each child is. In my past experiences, whether working with children with disabilities, caring for infants and toddlers, or planning play-based activities, I’ve learned that the best caregiving happens when kids are allowed to be themselves, explore freely, and feel supported every step of the way. I believe in balancing playfulness and structure, and in using creativity, through art, reading, and imagination, to help children grow with confidence and joy.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with special needs children includes working as a teaching assistant at a DIR-Floortime school with children 4-8 where I use play-based approaches to build relationships with my students and help regulate their emotions. Additionally, I was a teaching assistant at Perkins School for the Blind, where I supported students with visual impairments and multiple disabilities. I’ve also babysat for children on the autism spectrum, which has helped me develop a strong understanding of the importance of routine, clear communication, and adapting to each child’s individual needs.

Medine B. - Seeking Work in Rye

Babysitter Available in Rye, NY: Medine B.

Hi! My name is Medine. I’m an experienced nanny and private chef with over 20 years of experience working with children of all ages, from newborns through young adults.

I’m also a mom to my beautiful 9-month-old daughter, Alina. ❤️ I’m currently looking for a warm family in the Rye/Westchester area, and I’m especially interested in a nanny-share arrangement where I can bring Alina with me. I think having the children together could be a wonderful experience, especially if they are close in age.

Throughout my career, I’ve cared for children at every stage, from newborns and infants to school-age children and teenagers. I’m loving, dependable, patient, and very comfortable managing routines, activities, meals, and all the little details that come with caring for children.

In addition to childcare, I have 20 years of private-chef experience and can prepare healthy, fresh meals for children and the family.
Emily H. - Seeking Work in Rye

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in Rye, NY: Emily H.

I'm a recent graduate of the College of the Holy Cross, where I majored in Sociology with a minor in Creative Writing. With over seven years of childcare experience, I love making learning fun while supporting each child's unique growth. Getting creative is my favorite part of the job—whether it's crafts, games, or helping with school projects, I find ways to keep kids engaged and excited to learn.
Beyond babysitting, I've volunteered at a clothing bank and worked with neurodiverse children, designing supportive activities that encourage learning, social connection, and confidence. I'd love to bring my creativity, patience, and experience into a part-time nanny role, making sure your children feel cared for, inspired, and encouraged to explore the world around them.
