Hi! My name is Paige Keaton. I’m an 18 year old currently studying Early Childhood Education with the goal of becoming a teacher. I have over 5 years of experience caring for children from infancy to 12 years old, including both babysitting and structured childcare settings.

I’m passionate about helping children grow, learn, and feel supported in a safe and loving environment. I believe every child has something unique to teach us, and I approach caregiving with patience, creativity, and a positive attitude. If there is one thing I know about working with kids, it’s that there is always something new to learn from them, even when you least expect it!

In my free time, I enjoy reading, going on road trips to the beach or mountains. I also love building meaningful connections and creating fun, memorable experiences with the people around me.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I currently have 12 ECE units in childhood development. I have over 400 hours of service in childcare for 1st and 2nd grade age groups, but have babysat for 5 years with infants and toddlers.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy activities where we simultaneously get to learn, like reading and telling stories.
I enjoy puzzles and crafts, I love helping children express themself in creative ways.
I love to be outside, whether that be going for a walk, or playing at the park, drawing with chalk or gardening fun plants!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of nannying is being patient but also a good listener. A lot of times we struggle with kids because their brains work so differently than our adult ones, when we take time to understand each individual child we also make a safe space to understand each other. Something I have come to learn is that the way children think is in such an innocent and pure manner, getting on their level to understand and communicate is just as important to them as it would be an adult.

My experience with special needs children...

I have specifically worked with children with special needs in a church setting. I have volunteered with a program that hosts prom for children with special needs and find great enjoyment in it!

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments I have had nannying is when we get to create new, fun games. I had a family I babysat for twice a week one 6 year old boy and one 4 year old girl. They loved to play outdoor baseball. So to make it more fun and safe we used our hands are the bat, and a soft stuffed ball as the baseball, and used the corners of the couch as the bases. It was so fun using our imaginations to create a game indoors that we could not play outdoors that day. On the days we could not go outside we would also build forts inside, it allowed them to practice skills like building and puzzling, while using trial and error to find places pillows and blankets could go without falling. After successfully building the fort we made it a movie night and popped some popcorn to enjoy our creation.
