I've been working with 2 different families at this time. I care for a 20 months old sporadically and for a 3 year old on Wednesdays here in Grass Valley/ Nevada City area.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Providing emotional safety and structure while supporting each child’s physical, cognitive, and social development. A nanny’s role is not only to care for a child, but to guide, observe, and intentionally support their growth.

My experience with special needs children...

While I have not worked in a formal special education role, I grew up around my mother’s physiotherapy clinic and became comfortable from an early age interacting with individuals with diverse physical and developmental needs. This environment helped develop patience, attentiveness, and respect for different learning and movement styles. I am open and willing to learn, and I approach each child with adaptability and care.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Watching a one-year-old begin to confidently say new words — including experimenting with sounds from another language — and seeing their excitement when they realize they can communicate. Seeing a toddler recognize a song and joyfully follow simple movement cues, building coordination and confidence through music. And those quiet moments when a child feels so safe and engaged in play that transitions become difficult — a sign that they feel secure, connected, and happy in their environment.
