More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've worked as a camp counselor for Ramapo Day Camp where I counseled 14 kids all under the age of 6. I was a nanny for 3 years for one family. I've babysat for countless families ages 5months-15years of age. Finally, I've done fieldwork in 2 different daycares and am very familiar with the process.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Playing games, creating activities and experiments/projects/crafts, doing activities or fun things outside of the house (aquarium, the playground...etc) going for walks, reading, helping them with homework (if they're old enough of course), feeding, cleaning, laundry...etc

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters most to me about being a caregiver of any kind is safety. When a parent trusts you with their children you have to take that very seriously. Care for them as if they were your own kids. Another thing that important is having fun! When I was growing up I remember having babysitters that would make up dances/songs with me and pretend play. It's very important to have that kind of relationship with them so they feel safe and happy!

My experience with special needs children...

I cared for 2 boys under the age of 6 and one boy under the age of 9. The two 6 year olds had mild special needs and behavioral issues and the 9 year old had more severe autism.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One time when I was nannying a 5 month old little boy and I took him on a walk in his carrier. He was looking up at the trees and everyone who walked past us. This was a very special moment for me and I really enjoyed watching him learn about the world around him.
