Hey! I’m Payton and I grew up around a big family and always hanging with kids and babysitting, working in the church nursery, and have always had a heart for kids. I’m now a theatre artist, I played sports all growing up, dancing/gymnastics, I play piano and guitar, was top of my class and got great grades in college, though may not be the best for math homework help. I see children as tiny people, learning about the world around them and growing into the person they’re going to be. They should be listened to, loved on, encouraged, respected, nurtured, and inspired. They are truly an incredible gift and coming along your family is not a opportunity I take lightly. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I began as a mother’s helper when I was twelve and progressed into babysitting shortly after. I babysat for a family with twins girls and three young boys during early highschool, as well as watched kids of family friends, the kids being under the age of eight. For the past three years I have been an acting coach and teaching at a preprofessional training studio for students aged 12-18. I’ve lived in watched a pair of sisters while their parents were out of town for the week, driving them to and from school, dance, friends houses and making them meals and packing lunches. Both had dietary restrictions but I am very comfortable accommodating and adjusting for most allergies and intolerances.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is learning everyone’s communication style. You must be on the same page as the parents but also learn how each kid communicates their needs, their feelings, and that no two kids are the same and that you have to be gentle and learn what works for them. They need to trust you and feel comfortable and parents need to feel the same way, so having open communication and a willingness to meet everyone where they are at is deeply important.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I’m a big fan of picnic adventures, playing make believe and uses different accents and characters to make kids laugh, I love watching littles experience milestones and their excitement accomplishing things like learning to ride a bike with no training wheels or using the big kid potty for the first time. When they want to play interactive games and do my hair and just sit and be close, it melts my heart.
