A little bit about me

Hello there! I am a graduate student getting my master’s in elementary education! I am currently a substitute teacher and I am looking for a summer job. I love working with children and have experience caring for multiple children. I have worked with all ages! Children have a unique outlook on life and their innocence and joy is something many adults need more of in their lives. I studied environmental science at Loyola, and although I do not have a degree in childhood education, I believe in learning in nature and through the world around us. I think of children as my equal, not my subordinate. I think fun and playtime are very important for children and can be educational and fun. I am willing to do light housework, cook, carpool, and take the children on exciting outings. Not only is nannying a job, but it is an exciting part of my day and something I look forward to. I worked as an assistant teacher at KinderCare in Oswego. I was also a nature preschool teacher at Peter Pan Day School and I currently am a substitute teacher at an elementary school

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to play educational games, sing songs, play pretend, color/crafts, and follow a child's lead on how they enjoy playing. Outdoors I love to go on picnics (even just in the backyard), play at the park, investigate nature, and teach children about the natural world around them.

My experience with special needs children...

I work with elementary aged students with various special needs such as autism, learning disabilities, and behavioral challenges.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of the most memorable moments I had was when my classroom of school-aged children made me a goodbye card and all signed it. I was going back to college and had worked there the entire summer, I loved seeing the impact I made on the children. They would complain when I would be put in a different classroom and always request me which made me feel so special. I miss those kids everyday!
