It is also important to respect the family’s values and work closely with parents so everyone is aligned on how to support the child. I have worked as a special education teacher for six years and a Special Education Coordinator for one year. Through this experience, I have developed a strong understanding of how to support children with special needs and help them succeed academically, behaviorally, and socially. I am patient, attentive, and committed to making sure each child receives the support they need to grow and feel confident.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I do not have one favorite nanny moment yet, but one of my favorite moments working with children was watching a student with autism write a full paragraph on his own using the supports and skills I had taught him. Seeing his confidence grow and realizing he could do it independently was very rewarding. Moments like that remind me why I enjoy working with children and helping them reach goals they once thought were difficult.
