A little bit about me

Hi! I’m Preslee, and I’ve been babysitting since I was 12. I’m certified in CPR and Stop the Bleed, and have a genuine passion for caring for children, especially infants. My goal is to become a nurse in labor & delivery or the NICU. I just graduated high school and am currently saving for college. Babysitting allows me to do something I enjoy while helping me reach my educational goals. I have experience caring for children of all ages, including spending an entire summer looking after a 3-month-old, 4-year-old, and 8-year-old. Families often tell me their children feel comfortable and safe with me. I’m responsible, dependable, and happy to keep kids engaged, whether that means helping with routines, doing fun crafts, playing outside, or reading their favorite stories for the hundredth time!
I’m available on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with flexibility depending on my work. I’d love the opportunity to support your family and provide a safe and fun environment for your children!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have volunteered to help 6th graders during outdoor school. I was their camp counselor for a week and it was one of the best experiences I've had! I also have been babysitting here and there ever since I was 12! I spent an entire summer watching over a family of three at the age 13, 3 month old, 4 year old, and 8 year old. I cooked and cleaned for them! Now that I am 18 and have a license and car, I can do transportation tool. I am also great with animals, I love dogs and cats, and have watched over lizards and rats.. (that was interesting but they are surprisingly cute!). I have helped raise my sister who is now 15! I help out with my aunt all the time, she has four kids, an 11 year old, 7 year old, 3 year old, and 3 month old. I also have babysat while the mom and dad were working at home but needed someone to clean, cook, and care for their two kids (6 month old and 4 year old).

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love keeping kids busy and having fun! Some of my favorite things to do are playing games, doing crafts, building forts, reading books with silly voices, and getting outside for walks or playtime (weather permitting, of course!). I'm always happy to get creative or follow their lead , whether it’s a dance party in the living room or a pretend tea party with stuffed animals!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is making sure children are safe, happy, and cared for (and of course having fun). Building trust with both kids and parents is something I take seriously. Of course, being a nanny also means being ready to play princesses, race toy cars, read the same bedtime story ten times, and somehow know exactly where that one missing stuffed animal is!

My experience with special needs children...

I’ve had hands-on experience working with children who have special needs, especially during my time as a camp counselor, where I was the lead for the special needs group. That role taught me so much about patience, adaptability, and the importance of creating a safe, structured, and fun environment for every child. I got to know each camper’s unique needs and personalities, and I loved helping them feel included, supported, and confident. Whether it was adjusting activities, following routines, or just being a calm and caring presence, I found it incredibly rewarding, and it’s a big part of why I’m so passionate about working with kids!

The most important part about being a nanny...

It’s hard to pick just one favorite nanny moment, because for me, the best part is building real connections with the kids I care for. I love forming strong bonds, watching their personalities shine, and seeing them grow and become their own little people. Whether it’s celebrating small milestones, sharing inside jokes, or just being someone they feel safe with, those moments mean the most to me.

Via M. - Seeking Work in Portland

Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Portland, OR: Via M.

I’m Via, a 19 year old who adores working with kids. I come from a large family where I constantly cared for siblings/cousins, infants to middle schoolers. I can proudly say I’ve always loved being around kids. I’ve spent my last three summers as a Camp Counselor, so I’ve got a plethora of activities for almost all age groups. Big Science and Math person, so homework help is another thing I’ve got under control. I’m a fast learner and I absolutely hate being bored. If there’s any around the house tasks that need to be done, I’ll get to it. I will have my own vehicle soon(10/25), but I’m also not afraid to use public transit or ride share to get to you. In all honesty, I don’t care too much about the price of payment, just let me know what works for you :)
