I regularly babysat a pair of twin boys for around 4 years. I volunteered as tutor for students from elementary middle and high school throughout my time. I was an assistant counselor at multiple summer camps throughout my teens.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love creating our own games that are tailored to the kid and their interested and use them as fun ways to weave learning into play. An example is playing "little scientist" where the kid gets a note pad and writes down observations and questions and we try to find answers with whatever we have access to. I also love going to the playground and library.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience tutoring and volunteering with the Special Education classes at my school throughout high school, as well as helping the Special Education classes at near by middle and elementary schools. I also had a long-term, regular babysitting arrangement where I cared for two siblings, one who had ASD and was semi-verbal and the other who had ADHD.
