I have volunteered at churches,daycares,homes,babysat in motels and hotels,date night sitter,have been a advocate for Autism Speaks since my son was born.I would do kid clothing drives and bring baby items to the shelters .My entire life has been dedicated to kids.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Love walking around the neighborhood and stroller rides , Legos,reading stories,sidewalk chalk,play dough,dolls and tea parties,and love bringing arts and crafts,snacks,etc.My nanny bag is usually full of goodies and things .I don't believe in planting a kid in front of a TV screen or phone screen all day long .Glad to now be a Vegas Desert Dweller lol.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To be able to relate to them and have communication,let them be kids and enjoy the young years they have time flies so fast. I think it's having the family feeling with who your working with I realize I'm not every families match and that is ok.Its a realationship to be built which is why nannying is so interesting.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a son turn five years old recently who is non verbal Autistic and have a little cousin with down syndrome .I have been around Autism my entire life and down syndrome and they are the sweetest most gentle ,so smart .I have experience with the therapy involved with them and their needs ,my family has a bunch with special needs and have a bit of experience with Cerebral Palsy as well if need help there .
The most important part about being a nanny...
When I was potty training this little boy who says ....it's not working ....I said what do you mean the toilet is broken ,he says no my wee wee Is broken.Funniest weirdest conversation ever I laughed so much hahhaha.
