More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have always loved children so I began early on as a mother's helper. I then began babysitting with my sister, and we would do traditional situations like date night or after school. But we also set up an in-home daycare for 4 summers, with anywhere from 4-8 children at a time ranging from 6mo-10 yrs old. The last 2 years I have mostly been nannying one family with 2 children, with occasional work for other close families.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy going on walks, swimming and going to the park. I also like baking with them, making crafts, designing adventures and games!.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is being a loving, stable caretaker when parents are away. Of course we have fun together, but making sure the children feel secure and loved is very important!

My experience with special needs children...

I have not had a lot of experience with special needs children, but I worked for a family with a young boy with Asperger's Syndrome.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love watching children smile and laugh, and just have a great time with each other.

Kailin W. - Seeking Work in Verona

Part-Time Nanny Available in Verona, WI: Kailin W.

My name is Kailin and I am 28 years old. I enjoy providing care to children of all ages. Childcare is and has always been my passion. I have an associates degree in Early Childhood Education and have been a neighborhood and family babysitter since I was 12 years old.

I completed the Early Childhood Education program at MATC in 2011. In the program, I completed four practicums, student teaching in daycare centers. With each practicum, my skills and abilities as a childcare provider advanced and prepared me for my career in childcare.

Upon graduating, I was offered a Lead Teaching position. I have been the Lead Teacher in the 2-year-old classroom for 7 years, and have enjoyed working with the younger ages. As the Lead Teacher, my responsibilities include: designing a structured daily routine, planning activities centered around arts, music, reading, math, letter recognition, and dramatic play. Each activity is designed to aid in the development of gross motor, fine motor, social, psychological, and self help skills. In addition to the daily activities, I am also responsible for assisting with meal times and nap/rest time. While working with 2-year-olds, I have also become very knowledgeable in strategies for successful potty training!

Throughout my education and work experience, I have worked with children with special needs including: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and ADHD. I am CPR Certified, SBS (shaken baby syndrome) certified, SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) certified and have taken the child abuse and neglect class. I have also taken classes about children with differing abilities. Feel free to ask any other questions.
