Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I volunteered at my church prior to COVID in the nursery/ children’s section. I also have medical experience as a patient care technician at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. I went through the process of getting my CNA certification as well as being BLS certified (basic life support) for children and adults. Upon request I am very willing to renew my CPR and first aid certifications.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
During the summer time, I love taking the children to the pool on a hot day. On cold or rainy days, reading to the children (or them reading to me) is my favorite thing to do.
The most important part about being a nanny...
What matters to me the most about being a nanny is making sure the children feel safe and comfortable in the environment that they are in. I am a mandatory reporter and have gone through training to know what to do in situations where I feel the children are unsafe.
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for a sweet boy with a rare syndrome called duplicate 15q syndrome. He is also on the autism spectrum. Duplicate 15q syndrome is a developmental disorder.
