A little bit about me

Hi! I’m 17 and will be a senior at Sioux Falls Christian School next year. I have hands-on experience working with children of all ages, including nannying for a family with four young boys, serving as a Teacher Assistant in middle school Language Arts, tutoring a fifth-grade student, and supporting elementary classrooms.

I’ve completed the Foundations of Education course through Dakota State University and plan to major in Elementary Education when I begin college in Fall 2027. In addition, I regularly volunteer in my church nursery, mentor middle school students in youth group, and teach Sunday School. I enjoy working with kids and creating a positive, supportive environment for them to learn and grow.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I like to tailor activities to each child’s interests and age. For the family I nannied for last year, who had four boys ages 2, 3, 6, and 9, we spent a lot of time outdoors on their acreage—reading books, playing basketball and baseball, using the water table, and playing on the playset.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My top priority when caring for kids is ensuring their safety. The boys I cared for last year lived near a busy highway and they had goats and animals at their place that was surrounded by fields. I watched them like a hawk and always kept them occupied. Also, I am not currently certified in CPR or First Aid, but I am willing to work toward those certifications.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moments just include all the activities we would do together as I previously mentioned. We also had fun making meals, watching an occasional movie on a rainy day, and listening to music. I also really loved getting the little ones up from their naps because they were excited to see me (most of the time).
