I’ve been babysitting since I was a little girl. This would be my first time receiving any compensation for it though. The only experience I would say I’m lacking in is newborns. I’ve always been kind of scared of them since their such a gentle task but I am very open to learning!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Playing outside, watching movies, finding out their interests by having conversations with them, any type of art & crafts activity, teaching them new things, etc. I’m really down for anything the kids want to do lol. Unless it’s dangerous of course!
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me, the most important thing about being a nanny is making sure that the children can trust you. Not only are the parents trusting you with their children but the children themselves are choosing to believe that you will protect them when their parents are away. And my goal is to make sure that they know I will be there and I will take my role as their nanny seriously from when I walk through their door to when I leave.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a 5 year old autistic (non-verbal) & ADHD brother. It’s not easy dealing with him and finding out ways to communicate with him and my job will never be easy, but I love him and I won’t give up on him. It’s definitely been a test on my patience but I feel as if i’m definitely more versatile and open to different situations now that i’ve seen what it’s like first-hand.
