A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Rebeca. I’m currently working as an au pair in New York and have over 8 years of experience caring for children of all ages, including infants and toddlers. I’m looking for a long-term, full-time position with a family or center open to sponsoring a work-based Green Card (EB-3 visa).

I’m deeply passionate about childcare, highly responsible, and have strong references in both the U.S. and Spain. I’d love to share more about my experience and how I can support your family.

Thank you for your time,
Rebeca

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Hello! My name is Rebeca and I’m a passionate childcare professional with over 8 years of experience caring for children from 10 months to 15 years old. I am currently in Plattsburgh, NY working as an au pair, where I care for four lovely children (ages 1–5) and a puppy.
I’ve worked in Spain and the U.S. as a nanny, camp counselor, head of children’s entertainment at a camping site, and teacher in summer schools. I’m active, creative, and deeply empathetic — I build strong, trusting bonds with children quickly.
I’m currently seeking a long-term, full-time opportunity with a family who values care, reliability, and joyful learning. I’m also open to live-in positions and visa sponsorship (EB-3).
Looking forward to joining a wonderful family!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Spending time with children fills my days with joy and energy. I’m a very active and creative person, so I love to keep the little ones moving and engaged! Some of my favorite activities include practicing all kinds of sports with them — from playing soccer to running around in the backyard — as well as going on hikes or even planning mini camping adventures in a tent (yes, with flashlights, stories, and all!).

I also enjoy quieter, hands-on activities like doing crafts, painting, or building fun projects together. Board games are always a must in my daily routine with kids — they’re perfect for bonding and learning while having fun.

And when it comes to imagination and crazy science experiments, I’m all in! One of my favorite things is making a volcano that actually explodes using baking soda and vinegar — the kids love it and it turns into a mini science show! I always try to create magical moments that they’ll remember, mixing fun with learning in every activity.

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me, the most important part of being a nanny is creating a strong, loving, and trusting bond with the children and the family. It goes far beyond just taking care of basic needs — it’s about becoming a positive, steady presence in a child’s life.

Children need to feel safe, understood, and truly seen for who they are. That means listening with patience, guiding with kindness, and being fully present in both the joyful and challenging moments.

As a nanny, I believe I play a role not only in helping with routines or daily tasks, but in nurturing their growth, encouraging their curiosity, and making sure they feel loved and supported every step of the way. The connection I build with each child is what stays in their hearts — and mine — long after the job is done.

My experience with special needs children...

Caring for people with special needs has always been a part of my life. My mother has used a wheelchair since I was born, so from a very young age, I learned to be attentive, patient, and supportive. That experience shaped the way I approach caregiving with empathy and deep respect.

Professionally, I’ve worked with several children with special needs, including children with ADHD, autism, and Down syndrome. Each of them has taught me something unique. I’ve learned how to adapt activities, how to listen more carefully, and how to celebrate small achievements that mean so much. I always aim to create a safe, joyful, and stimulating environment where they feel seen, valued, and free to express themselves.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of the most special and heartwarming experiences I’ve had as a nanny is actually happening right now with the family I currently care for. They have four amazing little ones, and from the very beginning, they welcomed me into their home and their hearts as if I were truly part of the family.

What makes this experience so meaningful isn’t just the big moments — it’s the little, everyday things. Like how the kids run to hug me in the morning, how they ask if I’m okay when I seem a bit tired, or how they draw me pictures and tell me they love me without needing a reason.

Even the parents show me constant kindness, always making sure I feel appreciated and cared for. When I’ve been sick, they’ve worried about me like I was one of their own. We’ve built such a natural connection that communication flows effortlessly — we understand each other with just a look or a smile.

It’s these moments of genuine affection, trust, and connection that remind me why I love what I do so much.
