Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve worked in daycares as well as full time and part time nannying positions. My previous job was taking care of a kind smart little guy with autism. Im proud to say I grew a strong bond with him and was able to help him be more comfortable and hit more developmental goals!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy doing practical but developmentally targeted activities like arts and crafts, exploring outdoors, going to museums, and overall just going by what the child enjoys and helping them flourish through those interests!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important thing to me is just making the child feel safe and welcomed. No matter the interest, no matter the activity I want to share the joy and help them build their creativity and just help them grow into functioning little people. I have a running joke that children are kinda like aliens that just landed on earth, they don’t know the customs or the lay of the land, but we are responsible for helping them acclimate to the new world around them. Every child is different and how we help them grow into who they are is going to be different, but if guide them gently into the right direction you get to see them turn into little adults before your eyes!

The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was working with a kiddo who had an absolute obsession with leaves! I’m still unsure about the fascination but no matter how many leaves i had to vacuum out of the backseat of my car, it was all worth it. We’d spend hours outside finding only the best leaves to collect. It brought him so much joy and I was just along for the ride :)
