A little bit about me

I have always loved being around kids. Before I was in school, I volunteered a lot for local churches near my area. They had a lot of summer activities and day-camps for the younger children. Personally, I had a lot of fun as well as the children. I feel like kids are the joy of life. Even though some people might say they are a lot of work, I feel like as long as you put the time and energy for them, everything will pay off. Currently, I'm studying to become a pediatric nurse. I volunteered with local churches as well as take small babysitting when I was younger.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I feel like every child is different. Some kids love to play outside, while others would rather be inside coloring or reading a book. Based of things i've done with younger children, I personally love taking them outside. We usually run around or play with bubbles, depending on their age. With my nieces, we would usually just like to walk around the park or go to a duck pond. They like more a scenic view than my nephews. If we had to stay inside, we would usually play games like green light/red light, hide-n-seek, and just anything they can think of. When it came to babies, I feel like just being around them and seeing what made them comfortable was the best thing for them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I feel like the most important thing a person must understand is that children are very important. Nannies or just anyone in general must understand that little ones need someone attentive look after them. They are still learning in life, so they perceive things very differently than older people. We just have to take the time to understand them better.

My experience with special needs children...

I have a nephew who has autism. I understand the patience and understanding a person must need to provide for the child. At least my nephew, we practice a lot of speaking out and trying to word what he needs to others. There are times were he does get more emotional, but that is only because it is harder for him to process his feelings like other would. Without a doubt, I'm not an expert but I am willing to learn.

The most important part about being a nanny...

There were these three little boys I used to take care of. Would we always run around and chase one another, or play hide n seek all day. One time when we were cleaning up their toys, I tripped on one of boys toys' and he picked it up and put the toy on time out. He told the toy to say sorry and it was just the funniest/cutest thing in the world.
