Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Being the oldest of 5, I’ve grown up taking care of littles! I’ve volunteered in the children and youth ministries at my church and have been babysitting/nannying for about 5 years. In high school, I participated in a kindergarten classroom for work-based learning, which is what confirmed I wanted to go to school to become a teacher!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to make everyday activities fun for the children! I love to make fairy houses outside in the woods, stop by parks and playgrounds, or just have a calm movie night with snacks at home!

The most important part about being a nanny...

In my opinion, the most important part about being a nanny is of course to keep the children safe and healthy but to also create a relationship. I want to become someone the children and family know they can trust, count on, and come to for anything.

My experience with special needs children...

While volunteering in the children and youth ministries at my church I have often been placed with special needs children. This often entails keeping them safe, comfortable, and supported in their time there. I never feel uncomfortable and always feel so much love.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My first year of work-based learning in high school, I was placed in a kindergarten classroom. Towards the end of the school year, a little boy asked if I would be his full-time summer nanny. I wasn’t particularly looking for another job but after his mom reached out to me, and told me they were currently looking for a nanny, I was thrilled to take the job. This turned out to be my first nanny experience and a sweet story I love to tell… when a kindergartener hired me to be his nanny!
