I love taking kids outside, going to parks, jumping on the trampoline, going to the pool, and hiking. I like to bake/cook with kids. I also love getting to know the kids I work with. I love being able to pour into their lives and leave a positive lasting impression.
My experience with special needs children...
It is not easy, to say the least. I have worked with special needs kids as a camp counselor and as a babysitter. It has its challenges but it is so rewarding. I love seeing these kids realize how capable they truly are and giving them the confidence to believe it as well. I am good at helping calm them down if they get worked up and distracting them from the things that seem out of control and scary to them. I am able to be attentive to them and their needs because i understand how important certain things are to them.
