Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a volunteer for my local library's summer program and I was placed in the children's department. While this wasn't a position directly in line with child care, I did help kids find their books, work on arts and crafts, and work on their summer reading assignments.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Arts and crafts are right in my wheelhouse, like making fairy/frog houses. I like setting up scavenger hunts through the house and yard with written clues and reading aloud is always fun. I'm in school to be a teacher, but I think that voice acting would be a fun career to fall back on and my existing skills would certainly apply here.

The most important part of being a nanny to me is creating a relationship with both the parent and the child. You need to feel like your child is in the right hands and your child needs to feel safe. I'm coming into their space, so they need to be okay with me.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment was being taught by my kid. I had spent plenty of hours helping him with summer work and teaching him American Sign Language, but it was very cool to see him using the skills we developed to teach me about the things he liked and how to do them; origami, legos, and other hands on things that I'm not very good at.
