More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Over the past few months, I've been a preschool teacher at a private Montessori school in Alabama. There, I work mainly with children between 1 1/2 and 2 1/2.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
On sunny days, I like taking the children out to the park for some sun and bubbles. On gloomier days, I enjoy crafting, imagination play, simple recipes, or trips to local libraries, aquariums, etc.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being a positive figure in the child/children's lives as well as the family's life overall!
My experience with special needs children...
I've worked as a camp counselor in the MAC (Mainstreaming at Camp) program with children on the spectrum. I've also had experience working with a wonderful boy in his early teens with Aspergers. While these positions come with unique challenges, they are consistently some of my most rewarding.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My FAVORITE nannying story was one with the twin 5-year-old girls and their 7-year-old sister. They were having a particularly cranky day and the 7-year-old was just not having it that day. While I was making their snack, the girls were doing an art project and I could hear them bickering just a little. My favorite part of the conversation went:
7 YO: That's not a very good circle
Twin A: *Sobs*
Twin. B: Hey don't talk to my sister like that!
7 YO: She's my sister too!
All: Sobbing
Needless to say, we all had a conversation about using kind words and found new, separate, activities to do but, those lines were some of the funniest of my career!

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in West Hartford, CT: Tarapu P.
Hi! My name is Tarapu (she/her) and I am an international studies major who is going into my third year of college. I am planning to study abroad in Morocco all of next year so I am hoping to find some part time nannying/babysitting gigs over the summer to allow me to save up more money for my year abroad. I would typically describe myself as a full-time student especially during the academic year but I also do have experience as a summer camp counselor and part-time library tutor/assistant. As an individual, I am responsible, organized, and attentive. My hobbies include arts and crafts, music, sports, as well as outdoor adventuring-- I like to do a little bit of everything, honestly! I do well with children of all age ranges and am ready for all the fun and excitement that comes with helping to take care of children!
