What matters most to me about being a nanny is understanding my families family values and that there are several relationships to uphold and not just one. As a nanny I know that I am building a relationship with the child(ren) I care for but the relationship with the parents is just as important and any other family members present to allow all of us to be as comfortable and family oriented as possible.
