A little bit about me

Hi, I'm Rory Knight! I'm a 19-year-old junior majoring in Economics & minoring in Political Science & Philosophy at Georgia College & State University. I've always enjoyed working with children, and over the years I've had the opportunity to care for kids in a variety of settings—from babysitting and tutoring to working as an assistant teacher, after-school teacher, and summer camp counselor.

Being around children brings me so much joy! No two days are ever the same, and I truly believe there's just as much we can learn from them as they learn from us. I'm often complimented on how quickly children gravitate towards me. Whether they were students in my classroom or children I simply interacted with around the school, I've always loved building meaningful connections.

While my priority is always providing dependable care, I also strive to create a fun & creativity filled environment. I want every child to have an enjoyable experience while continuing to grow and discover the world.

I worked at the Wood Acres School as a summer camp counselor.
I worked at the International Academy of Smyrna as an afterschool teacher.
I worked at Cresent Lakes Acadmy as an Assistant Teacher and then again a few years later as the primary one year old teacher.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of the things I love most about working with children is watching them grow. Seeing a child learn something new, gain confidence, and develop a little more each day is incredibly rewarding. Childhood is filled with so many small milestones that are easy to overlook, but I think they're some of the most meaningful moments. It's a privilege to be part of that journey and to help create an environment where children feel encouraged to learn, explore, and become the best version of themselves.

My experience with special needs children...

Having worked as a teacher and camp counselor in several different schools, I've gained extensive experience caring for children of all ages, from infants to 12 years old. Throughout my childcare experience, I've worked with many children with special needs and have become comfortable adapting my approach to meet each child's unique strengths and developmental needs. I also have significant experience caring for infants and toddlers, including those born prematurely, and understand the importance of providing patient, attentive, and developmentally appropriate care.

The most important part about being a nanny...

During my last week babysitting a previous family, the kids made me a gift that I have kept forever. While they have made me many cute crafts, they surprised me with a scrapbook of some of our favorite memories together. This absolutely made my heart melt and made leaving a 100 times harder than it already was.
