More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have worked in preschools/daycare as both teacher and assistant teacher for several years. I held a NYS Teacher Assistant Certification for public schools K-12 as well.
One of my locations as a CNA was within a 1st grade class. My role was 1:1 for a child who was in a wheelchair with a medical condition. This was an inclusive class and I was there to help him go about his day, as well as bus pickup/drop off. It also required changing at least once a day: colostomy bag, diaper as well as food/-feeding assistance. I accompanied him during activities to maintain safety and structure including outside play.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Love arts and crafts. I try to be outdoors as much as possible too. Parks, petting zoos, trails, beaches etc. I still go down the slides and swing with them at the playgrounds. When able I enjoy taking them bowling, movies, to eat, indoor playgrounds-you'll see me riding the tricycle at the smithhaven mall one lol. It honestly depends on the child and what they're into. I like to try and keep things moving while also having those lets snuggle in with some good books days too. I try to expose them to different things all while keeping within the families preferences.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is understanding everyone is different and that each child has their own way of learning and growing. Being aware of the childs needs and knowing when to help and/or give them space. Being patient while they figure out themselves and helping guide them to be respectful and kind to themselves and to others. Overall giving a safe, comfortable space for them to grow and learn and making some fun memories in the process.
