Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
- In 2021 I was a live-in nanny out in California for a 9 month old and 2 year old :) I did this for a year and a half and learned more than I ever could imagine and am so grateful! My hours ranged from 7am-10pm. Date nights. Overnights when the parents were out of town. I’d always help tidy and do chores around the house (laundry, bed making, dishes, organizing, etc) And often would take the mom’s car to run errands for her. I learned nap and feeding schedules, etc. On my days off I worked part time at the preschool the family owns, focusing more on the 2 & 3 year olds. This whole experience is what made me fall in love with early childhood education.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Anything where the child is able to explore and use their imagination. Inside or outside. I love doing crafts with kids and am always looking for ideas on Pinterest that help with cognitive function, appropriate for their age. Going to the park, picnics outside, scavenger hunts, walks, coloring/drawing, reading, baking, etc!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Always making sure the kids are safe and cared for, but connecting and building a good relationship with the kids so that they feel comfortable and happy as well. Also having a good relationship with the parent I feel is important for both the overall care of the child, and making everything easier for both the parent/parents and the nanny
