"I highly recommend Rowan as a nanny. She cared for my son from 9 to 20 months and became an essential part of our family. Rowan is creative, personable, and delightful—filling our days with music, crafts, and engaging activities that supported his development.
She also connected wonderfully with our older son (age five), including him in play and creating a warm, inclusive environment. Rowan was reliable and coordinated smoothly with our preschool schedule.
She brought her son, Kieran, which turned out to be a gift—our boys formed a sweet friendship.
We were sad when she moved on to a full-time role with a younger child, but we remain in touch and value her greatly. Any family would be lucky to have her."

"Rowan was our son’s nanny for 2 years and she started with us when he was four months old. She would arrive every morning with enthusiasm and had a theme and activities planned for the week. She loved taking adventures to different local libraries, museums, the zoo and playgroups. Rowan is very creative, nurturing and dependable. Any family would be extremely lucky to have her!"

More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Almost everywhere, honestly. I became an auntie at nine years old and spent my tweens helping care for my nieces and nephews when my oldest sister needed a break. I have eight nieces and nephews, a goddaughter and a godson. I changed two under two before I was ten while simultaneously keeping them from rolling off the couch and blocking the slider so nobody escaped. That was probably my first real day on the job.
I also completed postpartum doula training and worked within the Boys and Girls Club for 6 years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
We spend a lot of time outside — tide pools, hiking trails, the farmer's market, whatever the season offers. I design themed curriculum around children's interests that covers gross motor, fine motor, art, science, food, music and literature. We bake — pumpkin bread in autumn, whatever sounds good the rest of the year. We make things, build things, mix things, and clean up after ourselves. We go to the library, the museum, the aquarium. And at the end of every day we read a stack of books on the couch.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is showing up. Not just physically — but really showing up. Being present enough to notice when something is off. Consistent enough that a child knows what to expect. Trustworthy enough that their parents can walk out the door and actually let go.
On a personal level I love watching children grow. Helping them discover the world and how it works brings me so much joy.
On a professional level I enjoy making life a little easier for parents. If I can make sure the dishwasher is empty and the living space is reset so you can focus on your children after a long day — I will. That handoff at the end of the day should feel like a relief, not a scramble.
The curriculum, the activities, the philosophy — none of it means anything if the child and the family don't feel genuinely safe with you. That is the foundation. Everything else is built on top of it.

When my little at the time was at play group, he was 19 months old. I was sitting on the floor behind him while he sat at the snack table with his little friends.
He climbed down out of his chair and came over to me. He wrapped his little arms around my neck and just held on. It was the sweetest hug I have ever received. He let go, said "I love Row-Row" and went back to eating snack.
I was with him from 4 month to 2 years old.
