Hello! My name is Roxie and I'm 22. I'm a Psychology major at Mt. Sac and on the waitlist to start classes for Radiology Technology! I’m a Certified Medical Assistant and CPR/BLS certified. Although I'm interested in healthcare, I've taken several child development classes to further my education while babysitting. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

This year I've gained experience working with three amazing families & their kids ages 5m-5yrs.
I have experience with potty-training, sleep schedules, tracking milestones, and introducing solids. I know a fair amount of Spanish and the basics of ASL.
In the past, I volunteered at a small church nursery/sunday school & cared for children from 7m-5yrs. I've also volunteered in a cross-age child development program that gave me experience with kids K-5. This course consisted of creating lesson plans, progress reports, & teaching literacy skills.

I love going on walks, reading books, and engaging in games or toys that help with developing their motor skills.

The most important part about being a nanny...

A good nanny is willing to put away one's pride when entertaining kids, especially when you kind of look silly in the process. Despite important qualities parents are looking for like organization, trust, and safety - a nanny should also be creative, inclusive, and ready for anything. I don't have kids myself, but I know the lengths I would go to find half the care I put into taking care of my siblings and that's the service I hope to provide in every family :)
