A little bit about me

I grew up going to my grandmother's daycare from elementary school through high school. During that time, as soon as I was a teen, I was one of her helpers with the babies, toddlers, and elementary-aged children.

During this time, I babysat some of the infants and toddlers at their home on days the children were not scheduled to be at the daycare.

I come from a very large family with lots of babies, so I was the go-to person when it came to traveling with family members to babysit as well as on-call for many years.

During college and for a period after college, I tutored middle-school aged children up to fellow college students.
I am passionate about childhood development and love learning about child psychology. My philosophy when working with children prioritizes safety, learning, and play. I am a creative person who can play pretend and I value reading no matter the age.

Hopefully, despite my lack of formal nannying, my application is considered.
