hi, my name is Ruhani! i’m 16 and a running start student, doing college alongside my high school classes. i love working with children! i teach at kumon twice a week, helping students build confidence in math and reading, and i also volunteer weekly at a hospital while leading a nonprofit that focuses on community health.

outside of academics, i train in jujitsu and have earned a purple belt, which has taught me patience, discipline, and how to guide others in a supportive way. i also enjoy swimming and staying active, so i love keeping kids engaged with fun games and outdoor activities! i’m fluent in punjabi and english, with working knowledge of hindi and urdu, which helps me connect with families from different backgrounds. i’m positive, outgoing, and responsible, and i always prioritize creating a safe, fun, and supportive environment for kids!

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

i’ve taught at kumon for two years, working with students from preschool through middle school to help them grow in math and reading. beyond the classroom, i’ve provided childcare for family and neighbors by planning activities, helping with homework, and making sure the kids felt safe and supported. i’ve also coached youth basketball and track and field, led jujitsu sessions for younger kids, and created handmade cards for children in hospitals. all of these experiences have strengthened my ability to guide, support, and connect with children in fun, caring, and meaningful ways.

i enjoy doing arts and crafts with kids because it lets them be creative and expressive while having fun. keeping kids active is just as important to me, so i love sports, outdoor games, swimming, and going on little adventures that make each day exciting. i also enjoy baking together, reading stories, and helping with schoolwork, making sure every activity is not only fun but also enriching and supportive for their growth.

The most important part about being a nanny...

honestly, it’s when the kids start to see me as a friend they can laugh and have fun with. one special memory was helping the kids bake a cake for their mom’s birthday, it was messy, creative, and seeing how proud they were.
