More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have 3 years of experience in teaching and tutoring which is valuable to working with other children and supporting their academic development.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
While indoors with children I love helping them use their imagination to have fun (ex: playing with toys, the floor is lava, etc) I also love creating fun and challenging obstacles for the kids to burn some energy. I also love using arts and crafts to help the kids learn the colors, letters, numbers, etc. while outside I enjoy going to the park to help develop motor and social skills. I enjoy setting up play dates. If the parents are open to taking the kids to the zoo or the museum I also really love taking the kids to explore. Going on walks, to admire nature etc.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny, I believe, is building a trusting and nurturing relationship with both the child and the family. It’s about creating a safe, loving environment where the child feels supported, both emotionally and physically, while also working in harmony with the parents’ values and routines. Being a nanny is more than just caregiving—it’s about fostering a child’s growth, development, and happiness while being adaptable to the family’s unique needs.
My experience with special needs children...
My experience with special needs children was really just to remember that they need more patience and guidance. Structure is very important. Understanding the child’s specific need would help with creating structure and routine which is crucial when adapting a good relationship with the kid and their parents. You also have to be very transparent with the parents and never be afraid to ask any questions that you have as that’ll help grow everyone’s relationship. Helping make the kid and his family feel safe and secure with their child in your care.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment is always when you witness a child’s “first” achievement—whether it’s their first steps, the first time they ride a bike, or even the first time they master a challenging puzzle. That moment when they look up at you with excitement and pride, and you get to share in their joy, knowing you played a part in supporting them, is always special.
