"Ryann was amazing! My husband is a trucker so he's gone most of the time and ryann would always come over and help me with our daughter or sit and play with her so I could take a much needed shower or catch up on some sleep. Our daughter just loves her to pieces and would get very excited to see her! Ryann was so much help with things around the house and helping with the animals as well. Definitely beyond grateful for her!! We moved a few hours away and unfortunately couldn't bring her with us (I tried 🤣) but even still she'll message me and ask how my daughter is! She's amazing with kids, I can't recommend her enough!!"

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Crafts, play, and reading are really important to me when hanging out with kids. I love reading books to kids or helping them learn to read. Taking them to the library or park (when it's warmer) is also one of my favorite things to do with kids! I love watching them explore the world around them and teaching them new things. Same when doing crafts. I don't mind getting a little messy or having to clean up a mess when kids are exploring and trying new things. I always make sure to clean up the messes we make and also encourage and tea h kids how to clean up messes because THAT IS part of exploring. I do also love playing video games with kids but I try to minimize how much screen time I allow kids when I'm with them. I only use it when I'm cooking/cleaning and I'll usually put on a read aloud book, a physical activity challenge, or music. I do LOVE Disney movies and don't mind watching your childs favorite movie/show on repeat if that's the plan 😉
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being compassionate, loving, patient and supportive. Understanding that kids are still kids and their brains are developing. Being gentle and patient when it comes to correction and guidance. Consistency is also extremely important! Kids need a consistent routine to help their brains develop and for them to feel mentally and emotionally stable.
Being fun. It so so so important to be professional while also still being fun and silly. Getting a little messy at times is good and full belly laughs are magical! Making happy memories with these kids is so important not just to me but for the kids and families. I want your kids to walk away with fun happy memories and I wanna feel you leaving confident with them being in my care.

My experience with special needs children...
I have 2 siblings who are on the Autism spectrum. 1 of those siblings also has OCD , tourettes, and other life altering medical conditions (I can talk about it more in detail if you have questions/concerns about your child and how I can help/relate.)I also work in the 4j school district in the special education department. I assist kids who are neuro divergent (Autism, OCD, ADHD etc.) need behavioral/emotional support, or have medical needs that require support (mobility aid users, diabetics, giving meds)
I also have OCD, anxiety, depression and trichotillomania (hair pulling). This has never been a problem when working with kids. I am very honest and open about my mental health. I instead see it as a way for me to help kids not feel alone and that they are seen, heard, and understood when they also struggle with these mental illnesses.

The most important part about being a nanny...
The hugs 😭 being greeted and told bye with mighty strong little hugs makes me feel accomplished. When I was a princess performer this was also my favorite part. It makes me feel like I'm doing a good job and that the kids are happy and taken care of. It makes me want to keep coming back and hang out and help kids grow. You also never know how often kids really get hugged and I think EVERYONE should be hugged at least once a day in my opinion. It's good for mental health.

My name is Shelby ! I am looking for a family who needs care after school, help with pickup ,snack after school , settling down and doing homework just spending time with the kiddos before the parents get home. I am currently a school nurse so I have the same schedule as most schools! Which works out great! Before I was a school nurse I was a kindergarten EA and a medical assistant in pediatrics I completed my externship in medical assisting but I did not continue my path in medical assisting , I love the environment of schools and I love being around kids! I have always grown up around kids my mom ran a daycare most of my life , and after that I was a camp counselor and I did some babysitting for the kids I met during those summers and I took the ECE pathway in highschool and got a lot of experience with an age range from 1 month olds to preschool. I absolutely loved it! I am CPR certified and have a medical and educational background!

Hello! I have grown up
consistently helping and working with children and love spending time with them. :) I have mostly worked with children from about
1-10 years of age but have had experience with a bit of

I would love to continue working with children and have availability a few days a week. Thank you!
