My experience with special needs children...
I have nannied for a 15 year boy with autism who was non-verbal, a 4 year old with PANS and sensory processing disorder, and have worked with children with down syndrome as well. I also volunteered in the special needs programs in high school for 4 years.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was when my 13 month old nanny baby learned my name !! She said it allll the time after that.
