More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
- Throughout the years, I have gained valuable experience and insight into working with and supporting youth of a variety of ages. My experiences include being a babysitter for my infant and toddler cousins, to being an elementary-aged tutor, a camp counselor for elementary middle-schoolers, a recreational summer program instructor for grades k-5, a mental health technician for preschoolers, and an after-school recreational program leader for middle and high-schoolers. Being able to work with a variety of diverse youth has provided me with the knowledge, patience, and flexibility to navigate and support through lifes ups and downs.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy allowing kids to be themselves by encouraging play, spending time outside, and creating a safe environment and structure for them. With guidance, and support I want kids to learn life skills, teaching them to be naturally curious and independent.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe the most important part about being a nanny is creating a space that encourages learning, teaches resilience, and fosters a child to be themselves.
My experience with special needs children...
As a mental health technician for preschoolers, I worked with ages 2-6 who had mental health diagnoses and neuro-developmental disorders. By promoting and teaching social skills, sharing, advocating for one's needs, and teaching emotion regulation strategies, I have worked with youth who may need a little extra more support and care to encourage healthy developmental growth.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I would say one of my favorite nanny moments would be getting to see the kids I work with grow up. While it definitely can be bittersweet, it is so wholesome for me to see them grow and develop into their own person, and know that you played a role in influencing and shaping their identities.

Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Saint Paul, MN: Angela S.
Caregiving for more than 20 years; 11 years as a nanny for multiple children at a time. Most of that has been spent with long-term families, including two 5-year placements&a unique pandemic era position.
Philosophy:
- Childhood is shaped not only by major milestones, but everyday moments: learning new skills, working thru challenges, exploring interests&building confidence thru secure attachment
-Versed in child development, emotional health&self regulation&using those insights thru observation, experience&personal growth.
-I don't primarily define success by academic achievement, developmental milestones, or perfect behavior. I care about those things, but return to a simpler measure of success: children feeling capable, seen&understood.
My approach combines: Structure&routines•Patience&security•Curiosity&independence•Creativity&self-expression
