Abiding by patent/guardian wishes. I always remain unbiased, supportive and respectful. Open communication and trust are vital. However that looks for your family: sending pictures/videos to you throughout the day, check-ins, keeping an activity log, nanny cams. I totally understand and encourage it.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a younger brother with special needs, with whom I am very involved in caring for. Working as the delegate school nurse, working with the special education department was common. As an EMT, I have trained and am comfortable working with the special needs population.
