I’m a mother myself; 10 year old boy, 9 year old boy, and almost 18 month old daughter. Recently, my husband passed away and I became a single parent and the sole provider for my children so bringing home a stable income is very important. After being a stay at home mom for the past 10 years, I didn’t really know where to start when it came to my career so I thought about what my passion is and I immediately knew I wanted to make a living caring for children. I have multiple years of experience working with kids of all ages. I have done work in home and in daycares. I feel I was born to work with children. I am patient, nurturing and extremely passionate about not only doing the normal day to day tasks required but also mentoring and helping children reach their full potential as well as helping them blossom into confident, compassionate people. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked 7 years in the nursery at my church. I was employed all through high school until I was 20 when I became pregnant with my first child. At the same time I was working for a single father as a nanny for his very opinionated but adorable little girl and a extremely gifted young boy with autism. Since then I’ve been a stay at home mom for my two son’s who are only a year apart. I had my hands full as I might as well have been raising twins which makes me extremely experienced with multitasking, patience and the ability to manage multiple kids and multiple meltdowns at the same time. I’ve also done lots of babysitting for family members, friends, and children that have been referred to me through people I know. Since my boys have been in school I often volunteer to help in the classroom for normal school days, events, and field trips.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I’m the kind of woman who enjoys creating activities for children to have fun and some to challenge children to help them gain confidence. I am great with tutoring as I have had experience with that while I was in school tutoring my peers. Especially in math class. I’m one of those people who loves math. So homework would never be a problem for me. I would enjoy helping out. I have my own transportation so taking the kids on outings to the park or any other special outings would be no problem with me as long as the parents were comfortable with it.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I feel the most important part of nannying is spending time helping a child figure out what natural gifts they possess. Everyone has a purpose in life and I love seeing children not only figure out what theirs is but also become passionate and empowered by this. Instilling confidence and a passion for life early on is crucial and what I strive to focus on while also being a companion for a child to have someone to listen to. Often times a child feels unimportant in a world ran by adults so focusing on them and reminding them that they are just as capable of greatness is something I feel is a priority.

My experience with special needs children...

I had 7 years experience with a young boy with mild autism. Also the 7 years working the nursery at my church and volunteering for my children’s school I have had experience working with children with all different kinds of special needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Not to sound cliche, but enjoy every moment. It’s truly my passion in life and I consider it a blessing to get to know and make a difference in childrens’ lives.
