More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am currently a Kindergarten student teacher, but I have also directly worked with students in grades 1, 2, 3, and 5 in the classroom setting. I have nannied/babysat for various families throughout the year with children ranging from newborns to 13-year-olds. I also have experience with elder care, as I worked as a CNA for several months.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I always try to make things as fun as possible! I always bring a "Babysitting Bag" with fun activities-- things I've brought in the past include suncatchers, seeds + pots to plant and decorate, Uno Attack, and funny books like "Dragons Love Tacos!" I am also comfortable transporting children to activities outside the home like museums and parks!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important thing is conducting yourself in a way that allows the child to trust you. I strive to be there not only for physical boo-boos, but for emotional ones too. Social-emotional education is very important to me, and I feel that it is important to remember that children are people with their own emotions, wants, and needs!

My experience with special needs children...

I have had experience working with several children with special needs. I have worked with children with ADHD, Autism, OCD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), and Sotos Syndrome.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I would say that my favorite moment was decorating planters with three children I nannied. I had gone to Target earlier that day and purchased some blank ceramic dinosaur planters and brought along some paint, then we decorated our planters together and planted flower seeds. We had a blast! I still have mine in my living room, even though it was about two years ago!
