To me, the most important part of being a nanny is building a trusting, loving relationship with both the children and their parents. A great nanny creates a safe, nurturing environment where kids can be themselves, explore their interests, and grow with confidence. It’s about being dependable, patient, and creative. It is also about truly caring for the children’s well-being, supporting their emotional and social development, along with being a positive role model in their lives.
My experience with special needs children...
In addition to my six years of babysitting children of all ages, I have experience working with children with special needs. This has given me the opportunity to develop strong skills in patience, empathy, and creative problem-solving. I’ve learned how to adapt activities to meet each child’s individual needs, create a calm and supportive environment, and communicate in ways that help them feel understood and safe.
Whether it’s providing extra structure, using positive reinforcement, or finding fun sensory-friendly activities, I focus on helping every child feel included and encouraged. Supporting children with special needs has taught me how important it is to celebrate small victories, build trust, and work closely with parents to maintain consistency and care.
