A little bit about me

Hi, I’m Sammi! I plan to move to San Marcos in September, I currently live in Oregon. I love to be active and go on adventures outside, as well as be creative with painting or photography!

I have 4 younger siblings that I babysat when I was younger and began babysitting for other families when I was around 14. I was a full-time nanny for just over 6 months in 2021 and it was my favorite job I’ve ever had. She was 13 months when I started. We went on daily walks, did Montessori activities, and had many fun-filled days. I loved being able to experience her first words and help her learn and grow. I left that job when I moved out of state and am now looking to nanny for a great family once again!

I’m very flexible, I’m willing to work either part-time or full-time. I’m looking for a family who is down to earth, friendly and welcoming. I look forward to hearing from you and working with you!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing many different activities with children. I try to create a balance between having stimuli and having rest. I believe it’s healthy at times for children to be understimulated. It leaves room for their own imagination and ideas to take place and engaging in self-play/ quiet time can be very beneficial for development.
My goal with stimulating activities is to teach them a new skill or practice an old one. I want to do something they show interest in and build on top of that. Getting them excited to try new things. I have also found that kids simply enjoy being involved in day-to-day tasks, such as helping at lunchtime by grabbing their own plates or helping to wash fruit. I see these small tasks as teachable moments so I enjoy letting them be involved with as much as they’d like.

Each activity will look different depending on the age of the child. But nonetheless, I aim to help teach and cultivate real-world skills by guiding them through challenges and making it fun!
