Hi! My name is Sara and I'm originally from Texas. I have been living in South Florida for 8 years now and absolutely love it! I have been a part-time nanny since I was in high school (I'm 34 now) and love children! I grew up with 3 nieces, so have a lot of experience with kids - I really prefer toddlers 2+ because it's a lot more fun being able to talk to them and play games. I love to cook, so meal preps are no problem and neither is light housekeeping. I used to work at the YMCA while in college, so I watched about 30 children ages 5-12 during the after school program.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing creative activities with children like coloring, painting, drawing, etc. I also love playing board games, dolls/cars, karaoke, sports, etc. Anything educational or active.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being able to be strict and fun at the same time. You really have to observe children and their behaviors to know how to limit certain things. Kids are much smarter than we think sometimes.

My experience with special needs children...

I have a niece who is now 15 and does not walk or talk and I have watched her since she was a baby. I have also been a nanny to kids with Autism.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I used to watch a teenage girl with Autism a few years back and she was in the dance team (as was I growing up) so her and I used to come up with dance routines and then perform for her parents as soon as they got home. She would run to the door with so much excitement and tell her parents that she taught me how to dance. She was so bright and sweet, I always left their home feeling so happy and loved. It was the best feeling making her so joyful.
