The most important part about being a babysitter/nanny for me is making sure I have a good, comfortable relationship with not only the baby or child I am taking care of but the family I am working for. My main goal is to make everything feel safe, content, and happy while I am around. I want to create strong, lasting bonds.

The most important part about being a nanny...
My most recent favorite moment was the last time I babysat my boyfriend's niece. She was doing what I call her "zoomy-time" (full of energy right before her afternoon nap). I put on a movie in hopes that she would want to sit and watch it but it didn't work for the first 15-20 minutes.
Then all of a sudden she crawled up onto the couch, plopped down next to me and dramatically laid her head on my chest. and within 5 minutes she was asleep. It made me feel so happy & content knowing she felt safe and comfortable with me to just come over and cuddle, especially since she'll soon be near the age where she doesn't want cuddles as often.

My job is great and I love everything about it, the only thing is when summer time comes around it’s not as reliable. I’m looking for more consistent hours for those couple of months and I think a nannying position will help with that. In my position currently I work with TK and Kindergarten as a lead for my aftercare program. I am also CPR and First Aid certified as my job requires us to be and we do refreshers for that once a year. This is the best job I’ve had and it’s allowed me to grow as a person and in my role as a counselor. Working with kids comes with its challenges but it’s so rewarding and they are so refreshing to be around. They allow me to find the silliness and childlike wonder within myself and I think everybody could use that once in a while. Overall, I’m excited to start this new journey and I hope you got to know me a bit better.
