Hello, I'm Sara, and I look forward to speaking with you about caring for your precious little one! I have more than 10 years of experience working with children of all ages, and I especially love caring for babies and young children. My personality is warm, caring, playful, light-hearted, silly, and enthusiastic. I enjoy getting little ones outside for stroller walks, trips to the park, and time in nature, along with reading, sensory play, creativity, learning, and quieter moments when they need to slow down. I enjoy getting to know each child as an individual and tailoring my care to their personality, developmental stage, interests, and family's needs. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My relevant experience includes nannying, including caring for infants, toddlers, and children with special needs, as well as working as a lifeguard, swim instructor, junior lifeguard facilitator, Girl Scout camp counselor, and student teacher. My experience also includes leadership in a setting focused on children and families, where I work closely with children, teens, and families and support a variety of developmental, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. I also have hands-on experience caring for babies, including infants as young as 3 months old.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

For babies, I enjoy age-appropriate sensory play, tummy time and floor play, reading, singing, simple music and movement, stroller walks, and spending time outdoors noticing nature together. As children grow, I like building on their interests with storytelling, imaginative play, arts and crafts, coloring, cooking, dancing, dress-up, building forts, board and card games, and Nerf gun wars. With older children, I also enjoy things like cycling, swimming, rollerblading, yard games, photography, journaling, and scrapbooking. I love balancing active play, creativity, learning, and quieter moments based on each child’s age, energy, and interests.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I want to be part of a family where we feel genuinely connected and have a kind, caring, trusting, and mutually respectful relationship. I love sharing everyday joy with children through learning, creating, movement, play, and spending time outside. Being able to take little ones on stroller walks, explore parks, and spend time in nature is especially important to me. Babies are my favorite. I find caring for them incredibly healing, grounding, and heartwarming, and I love getting to experience the world through their curiosity, wonder, and growing personalities. There is something truly special about seeing life through the eyes and heart of a child, and I value being a safe, loving, and dependable person alongside them as they grow.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for children on the autism spectrum and working with neurodivergent children with a variety of behavioral, social, and emotional needs. Through my professional work with children and families, I have collaborated with caregivers and other adults to create consistent approaches that support each child’s individual needs and strengths. I believe in meeting children where they are, being patient and curious about what their behavior may be communicating, and adapting my approach rather than expecting every child to respond in the same way. I also know some American Sign Language (ASL), although I am no longer fluent.

The most important part about being a nanny...

In one of my early nanny positions, I cared for a young boy on the autism spectrum and his older sister. I worked closely with a speech pathologist to help teach him American Sign Language and took things at his pace while he got to know and trust me. Through song, dance, patience, and lots of play, we gradually formed a special bond. After a couple of months, he ran to greet me at the door, threw his arms around my legs, and happily said my name to the best of his ability. His mother was overcome with emotion and shared how meaningful it was to see that connection grow. That moment warmed my heart. The years I spent caring for him and his sister were incredibly joyful and ones I will not soon forget.
