A little bit about me

My name is Sarah, I’m 25 years old and attended the University of Kansas, majoring in Psychology! I have babysat for many friends and family for years, including a year and a half of nannying for my mom’s friend’s newborn. I have always been great with kids, I love all animals, and always enjoy getting to know new families! I’m flexible on hours and pay.

For 2026, I am incredibly flexible schedule-wise with the only exception being a live-in basis as I have a 6-year-old dog! I have a ton of experience with ages newborn-thirteen, those with special needs, parents with changing/inconsistent schedules and more!

I am also CPR certified, including infant CPR, as well as have had First Aid training.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been a substitute preschool teacher watching over two to four-year-olds. I volunteered for my family church’s Sunday School Daycare. I have been babysitting kids from newborns to 13-year-olds since I was twelve!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love reading with kids, talking to them about important lessons for life, being someone they can talk to, having kids show and tell me all about what they’re most interested in, going on fun outings, walks, going to the pool, helping teach them to help with their education, and mostly just letting a child know that I’m there to keep them safe, help them with anything, and to feel like I’m their friend. I also love helping kids express their creativity whether it’s through drawing, coloring, painting, building toys, or even imaginary worlds - I absolutely adore seeing that spark in their eyes as they create whatever they want!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The relationship and trust I build with the kids. I remember exactly how much I loved my babysitters growing up, and I want kids to feel the same excitement, comfort, and happiness with me!
I also believe that helping the kid(s) grow and learn is equally important. You need both to be the best childcare possible.
Lastly, being communicative with the parent(s). Not only for safety and peace of mind, but I love going over my time with them! What we did, where we went, times they ate or went to the bathroom, funny and sweet moments, or anything else I feel you would want or need to know!

My experience with special needs children...

Throughout high school, I volunteered at VSA (Very Special Arts) which is an organization that puts on plays/musicals with special needs participants. I helped and worked with people of all ages and many different challenges during my time there, and I still have a relationship with numerous people I met through the organization!
