More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I began babysitting for families on an occasional basis, which soon grew into consistent after-school nannying jobs throughout high school. In college, I worked a semester at Kid Cove daycare in Boone, NC, where I supported early childhood development in a structured setting. I also served as an after-school group leader at Valle Crucis Elementary School, where I earned my CPR certification and gained hands-on experience working with school-aged children. Now, I’m preparing to transition into a full-time teaching role at the high school level this coming August.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

One of the things I love most about babysitting is getting to use my creative side to be playful with the kids I work with. Whether we’re making up games, doing arts and crafts, building with Legos, or just using our imaginations, I think it’s so important to let kids express themselves and have fun. However, the most important aspect is having fun while maintaining a safe environment.

My experience with special needs children...

My older brother was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome at a young age. I also grew up supporting my mom in the classroom as she was a special needs elementary school teacher in Wake County for a few years.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of the things I love most about nannying is becoming a long-term sitter for families and getting to grow alongside them through the years. I actually started as a mother’s helper when I was in middle school myself, and it’s been so special to stay connected over the years. Just recently, I got to surprise one of the girls I’ve babysat for with gifts on her 13th birthday—it was such a sweet full-circle moment that reminded me why I love doing this so much.
