More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I gained meaningful experience caring for children while volunteering at St. Joseph Church in Norwalk, CT. I served as an assistant teacher on Mondays and Tuesdays, helping guide and support students during their lessons. On Saturdays and Sundays, I led my own classes of about 25 children in the 2nd–3rd grade. I also had the opportunity to teach high school students between the ages of 14-16.
During this time, I was also between the ages of 16–18 myself, balancing school, work, and my volunteer responsibilities. This experience helped me develop patience, leadership, and strong time-management skills. It also showed me how rewarding it is to guide and support young people as they grow and learn.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy speaking with children with respect and patience, while also knowing when to soothe them and when to be firm. I believe in helping children feel heard while also guiding them with clear boundaries.
Some activities I enjoy doing with kids include going on walks, drawing, painting, and planting seeds if possible. I love encouraging them to explore nature and become curious about the world around them while also teaching them that not everything is safe and that awareness is important.
I also value teaching humility, kindness, and respect. I encourage children to express their emotions in healthy ways, not just through crying or getting whatever they want, but by learning how to understand their feelings and communicate them.

My experience with special needs children...
During high school, I volunteered with children with special needs and always tried to see them simply as students and individuals. This experience helped me grow in patience, empathy, and understanding.
I also have a cousin with Cerebral Palsy, and knowing her has shown me how strong and bright children can be despite challenges. I’ve also cared for a child with Autism and speech delays. With patience and communication, I was able to connect with him and help him feel comfortable enough to eat and listen, something his mom said he rarely did.
Moments like these are meaningful to me because small milestones bring joy not only to the child, but also to their families

The most important part about being a nanny...
It’s hard to choose just one favorite moment because each child I’ve cared for has been special. Many parents have even called me a “baby whisperer.” I’ve helped parents who felt their baby would never settle or sleep in a crib, and with patience and care I’ve been able to help the baby feel calm and comfortable. Moments like that reassure parents and remind me how capable I am of caring for children.
Another memorable moment was caring for 3-year-old twins. While I was cooking and cleaning, they grabbed their own little brooms and started helping me sweep. It reminded me that children are always watching and learning from the adults around them. Moments like that showed me how important it is to lead by example and be a positive influence in their lives.

Live-In Part-Time Nanny Available in Norwalk, CT: Lily B.
I have professional childcare experience working with children from infants to high schoolers. As a nanny, I created a nurturing, structured environment that supported early development through reading, music, and outdoor activities while managing daily care routines. I adapt easily to different personalities, needs, and family expectations, and prioritize a safe, engaging space. I am reliable and communicate clearly.
I also have several years of experience mentoring children as a youth soccer coach and volunteer in after-school programs. In these roles, I helped kids build skills, confidence, self-care habits, and teamwork while encouraging them to be themselves.
Outside of childcare, I enjoy reading, writing, spending time in nature, photography, and creative pursuits. I am calm, warm, empathetic, and observant.
