Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I personally love any type of art, where i can encourage kids to express themselves through whatever they find most enjoyable. Whether it’s painting, music, building, acting, dancing, drawing, or simply using imagination to play, kids naturally use their activities to reflect and expand on their own experiences in everyday life, which i think is a crucial aspect of how to best support them on their individual journeys, while also guiding them in how to positively and peacefully express themselves in a way that they’re excited about.
The most important part about being a nanny...
is being able to meet the child wherever they are at, creating a relationship where you work together as a team and finding meaningful opportunities for teachable moments. Kids are sponges and I love getting to know that the work i do can have a positive lifelong impact. My goal is to help kids grow into their confidence and happiness, work with them to problem solve and to have created a bond that is safe and supportive, engaging, and enjoyable.
My experience with special needs children...
in high school i volunteered with the special olympics team & have some experience with toddlers on the spectrum. I don’t have much experience with elementary-middle school aged children however i am neurodivergent myself and think that it is helping in finding creative ways to problem solve
