Activities I enjoy doing with children...
When I’m hanging out with older kids I love doing anything outdoors. Whether it be taking a walk or looking for animals and bugs along a creek. With younger children I like doing fun experiments that not only keep them engaged but also help them learn. Such as using shaving foam or a slime like substance to hide small things in a container that we then have to find and identify.
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve been working as a behavioral technician (therapist) for autistic youth through the Lighthouse Autism center and I’ve also been a mentor for kids with a variety of different needs while still in high school. I’ve had kids with feeding tubes, autism, Down syndrome, learning disabilities, and many more.
