I love doing arts and crafts, baking, going for walks, and whatever the child wants to do or play. The biggest thing I do is to try to keep them away from the TV or electronics.

Listening to the child's needs and making sure they are met. Also, whenever possible and logically, their wants are met. Making sure the child is safe and feel safe.
My experience with special needs children...
I don't have much experience with children with special needs, practically none. However, I worked with one child who was nonverbal, and at first, it was tough, but we ended up making a lot of progress. The mother always thanked me and said I was the only teacher patient enough to make as much progress as I did. It was an amazing and beautiful learning experience, but other than that, I haven't had experience with special needs children.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of the best moments was with this family I used to regularly babysit for. Whenever they saw me at church or in public, they would beg their parents to let me come over again. I connected with those kids really well and it was always a blast.
